An affiliate of ACCION International, Genesis Empresarial is a Microfinance Institution with over 18 years of experience promoting the development of microenterprise and small business in urban and rural areas of Guatemala. In 18 years, Genesis has provided loans to 136,000 clients with over US$297 million in granted loans. They currently support 55,184 active clients with an active portfolio of US$32 million.

Kiva.org
Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back.
